Advertising is a necessity for
your business. Whether you rely on free advertising, paid advertising or a
combination of the two depends on your business plan.
If you've read many articles on
my site, you've probably figured out that search engine optimization so I can
get free and highly targeted visitors to my web pages is my favorite
promotional method.
Article marketing is another tool
I use that has proven very effective at delivering visitors and valuable
inbound links. If you aren't writing articles or outsourcing their creation,
you should be.
I don't write about it very often
but banner advertising is another promotional method I employ because it brings
targeted visitors that have taken action to reach my site.
When you place a banner in a
banner exchange or use a service that will sell you impressions, you are
usually going to receive visitors that clicked on your banners because they are
interested in what you have to offer. Paid To Click (PTC) sites are paying people
to click banners so those clicks are less likely to be high quality visits
unless you are offering something free that fits in with their desires.
I recently joined a site that
places my banner on 500+ sites for $6.95 a month. I'll be receiving about
10,000 banner impressions across a network of sites that is consistently
growing. This network provides targeted, untargeted and incentivized visitors
to me.
If I manage a 1 percent
click-thru rate, which is achievable, I will receive 100 visitors for that
money. That would work out to less than 7 cents a visitor and most people pay
much more than that for pay-per-click traffic.
I've also seen expired domain
traffic selling for 5-7 cents a visitor.
The reason this banner
advertising appeals to me more than the other methods mentioned above is the
majority of the people that participate in the Paid To Read, Paid To Click and
Paid To Promote sites are women looking to make some extra money.
I don't know about you but I see
a group of business opportunity people looking for free or inexpensive ways to
make money from home a VERY attractive audience to promote to.
This banner advertising program
has a revenue sharing program built into it so 2 personal referrals to the
program will yield enough revenue share commissions each month for you to break
even. I think this advertising is affordable without the revenue sharing but
with that component built in, it became a no brainer for me. I encourage you to
check out The Banner Co-op and decide for
yourself
