Can A Lack Of Knowledge Stop Your Climb To Business Success?
Business success requires consistent daily actions on money making activities. If you start your business using the wrong information as your foundation then…
Business Success Pathways
There are many paths to business success and a few of them are:
- Affiliate marketing
- Product creation
These are just a few of the many proven pathways that have been used to build successful businesses both offline and online.
Regardless of your chosen business model, you will eventually need or want two things. These two things are a website and a high position in the search engines for the keywords you are targeting.
If you take shortcuts in either of these, you may be leaving money on the table, making your climb to the top harder or setting yourself up for a hacker to slow or stop your momentum.
Keyword research is boring. Keyword research is NOT sexy and it isn’t fun for most people but it is the one thing that will help you rise past your competitors faster and easier IF you get it right.
You MUST understand your target audience, what they want and what they need before you can tailor your product or service to satisfy their desires.
Do this correctly and you can have a less than ideal website with poor sales copy and business success will still be yours. If you choose the wrong keywords, you can have a great website with killer sales copy and hold the top position in the search engines for your chosen phrases and you will struggle to make consistent sales.
A Business Success Website
As I just stated, your website doesn’t always have to be the best looking or have the greatest sales copy for you to become successful in business.
It DOES need the ability to evolve and be updated without starting from scratch. WordPress is continuing to grow in popularity because it is constantly being updated to increase security and add new features.
Unfortunately, too many non-technical business owners are choosing to have their websites installed by friends, family or some outsourced worker that is willing to do the job for a one-time fee.
Your website is your virtual storefront. If you do not do regular maintenance and upkeep on it, you are leaving your business vulnerable to attacks from cyber vandals. The damage they can do can be anything from a minor nuisance to a complete destruction of your business.
If a virus is inserted into some of the files on your website and you don’t know about it, you could have anti-virus software block your site from visitors and the search engines have been known to de-index websites that are infected with viruses or malware.
Outdated website scripts and old WordPress plugins are two potential entrance points. If you create lead capture pages and add files that are outside of the traditional WordPress structure, you may be leaving security holes unless you have a professional install and maintain your site for you.
I regularly see business owners spend money each day on gourmet coffee then refuse to pay $25.00 per month to have their website regularly backed up, maintained and checked for security holes.
No website can be made 100 percent secure BUT they can be made much more secure than they are straight out of the box.
Are you so uninformed about what your site needs or so afraid of adding to your fixed business expenses that you are willing to put your chance at achieving and maintaining business success at risk by skipping regular website security and maintenance?
