Your Local Business Needs Content Marketing To Be Found Online
Every local business that wants to be found online needs a content marketing strategy. There are many strategies you can use. Do you use any of these?
Videos are content and they are the way many consumers choose to receive their content when the option is made available to them.
Did you know that YouTube is second only to Google in the number of searches conducted each month? It is also much easier to rank a good video on YouTube high in the results for both YouTube and Google searches.
Local Business Directories
Many of the major local business directories will let you add images, links to some videos, links to your social networks, a history of your business, awards and more in addition to your business name, address, phone number, hours of operation as well as a link to your business website.
If you aren’t claiming and optimizing your listing on these directories, you’re missing out on free, high-quality, back links that would help you get a higher ranking in the search engines in addition to more exposure to potential customers.
Most of these directories also have ways for your customers to leave reviews about their experience with your business.
If you haven’t claimed your listings and aren’t monitoring these local directories, you may have customer reviews that are either attracting business to you or driving it away from you without you even knowing it.
Social Media Sites
There are many different social media sites and it is very difficult, if not impossible, to measure your ROI by participating in the sites.
It is, however, vital for you to be present on some of the sites and the sites that you must be present on and use will vary from industry to industry.
The reason you must have a presence on some of these sites is that Google monitors them, indexes your profile and sometimes even your content and then uses this data as social proof which helps develop your authority within your industry.
Press Releases And White Papers
Press releases and white papers are good ways to get your business noticed without advertising. A well-written press release that is newsworthy and is presented through quality distribution services will help your search engine rankings and they can help get you customers and sometimes even attention from the media.
White papers by their nature help you build your authority within your niche.
People on the go love to have content they can load onto their phone or tablet so they can consume it at their convenience.
This type of graphic can go viral. It’s also another way people learn and retain longer than with just the written word.
Article marketing, blog posts, forum posts and comments are all still viable but not as effective as in years past.
The content marketing strategy you implement needs to fit your target audience, goals and budget. Consistency is another key component that needs to be included in your marketing plan.
